Empowering Mobilisers to Function Efficiently in the God-Given Ministry

Empowering Mobilisers to Function Efficiently in the God-Given Ministry
April 21, 2023 June Whittaker

‘After this the Lord appointed seventy-two others and sent them on ahead of him, two by two, into every town and place where he himself was about to go. And he said to them, The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few. Therefore pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest.’  Luke 10:1-2

‘Mobilisation is the process of envisioning and educating God’s people about his strategic plans for the world.’  (Global CAST Resources)  Mobilisation is therefore essential to enable labourers to be sent out into His harvest.

At Simply Mobilising we recognise four components for growth as a Mobiliser:

  • Affirming mobilisers in their ‘calling’ by providing opportunities to discover and identify their ‘call’ and to grow both individually and as a community (Tribe) in this ministry.
  • Training for mobilisers to become fully equipped for fruitful mobilisation ministry
  • Availability of multiple mobilising products (courses and programmes) – adding to the mobiliser’s tool box
  • Acceptance of mobilisation as a recognised ministry within the body of Christ.

I was personally encouraged by Simply Mobilising when I discovered that Mobilisation is both apostolic and prophetic.  A light bulb definitely lit up when I read:

‘ In the Old Testament we see that God chose Israel to be a blessing and a light to the nations. The role of the prophet was to call all God’s people back to God and challenge them to live for the purpose for which they were called.

At their very core the OT prophets were mobilisers! In this sense, the prophetic ministry of the New Testament is precisely the same (Acts 15:32). The mobiliser focuses on energising God’s people into obedient, sacrificial and enthusiastic participation in God’s mission purposes.

Prayer Points

  • We are asked to pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out labourers into His harvest. The Holy Spirit is calling people to mission, therefore, we pray that our Lord will bring revelation of whom He wants us to mobilise.
  • Help us to replicate the model of disciples that make disciples to fulfil Jesus’ plan to reach the whole world.
  • Help us to be an example to others and show mission to be a liveable reality and how on mission with God can work.
  • Help us to tell the stories of what God is doing among the nations that will catch the hearts of people, and bring about fresh revelation and action.
